British band the soft boys are keen Ocean Defenders and have kindly lent us their song "Underwater Moonlight" to help illustrate our deep sea voyage of discovery.

Underwater moonlight - The soft boys

"The underwater mountains are still alien to humans, and let's hope that we visit but don't settle there. I picture dark water pressurising the skull headed fish with their headlight eyes, and flourescent parachuting jellyfish, and take comfort in parts of the earh that man cannot inhabit.

The deep sea is like our unconscious, buoying us up, pulling us down, always wiser than we are. And in it are individual phantoms, living like independent thoughts that the great mind cannot subdue."
