Th' 'Defendin' our Oceans' voyage be th' single largest expedition that Greenpeace has ereundertaken. This hardbiscuit sail will tell th' story o' th' crisis facin' our oceans from th' Azores t' Antarctica, take ye t' places fair few crewmaties ben, confore th' villains an' promote solutions – an' ye can join us, all ye salty dogs and landlubbers alike.

While many o' us have a wee
soft spot in our pirate hearts fer th' ocean, 't’s hard t' imagine what
be happenin' jus' beyond our beaches, an' hard t' picture th' scale o'
destruction
an' th' impact that 't’s havin'. By travellin' t' most o' th' oceans in
th' world, this voyage aims t' change this - we will make th'
unseen, seen. And we'll be havin' a wee word with them what's muckin'
with
our oceans, matey.
Ever' second breath ye take comes from th' sea. Th' oceans give
life t' our planet. In return we be suffocatin' them; dredgin' up too
many fish, stealin' food from needy bung holes, carelessly killin'
countless creatures includin' whales, turtles, sea birds an' thousand
year old corals, we fill th' oceans wi' pollution an' warm them wi'
climate change.
Durin' this journey, we want ye t' join us. Wherereyou be in
th' world, ye can help defend yer oceans. Aye, be a good Salty Dog and sign up as an Ocean
Defender now!
Our goal: marine reserves
A mainsail focus o' th' expedition be th' creation o' a global
network o' ocean parks called marine reserves. Jus' as parks on land
allow life t' flourish, marine reserves be essential t' help restore
th' diversity that once characterised our seas.
Many governments agree that such a network be vital. Th' admirals at
the UN spake that they will work ou' where these reserves ought
be by th' end
o' 2006. But th' goldrush fer fish be blindin' governments t' th'
damage that be bein' done.
So we will do th' work fer them. By th' end o' th' journey, we
will be havin' mapped ou' on our Google Map where these marine reserves
ought be, an' why.
A global journey
Th' expedition will set sail from South Africa t' Europe, th' Americas
t'
th' Antarctic. Ye can follow th' journey on our map. And if
ye too have the heart of a pirate, why me hearties, you'd be fair
welcome to share the grog and haul the halyards side by scurvy side
wit' us. Arrrrrrr.....
